In loving memory of Janet Henderson, a radiant soul whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. Janet was a devoted wife and an extraordinary mother to her two children, pouring boundless love and care into her family. Later in life she turned that love to the grandkids who knew her as Grandma Janny. The Grandchildren became her greatest pride and joy. Janet rarely missed a sporting event, proudly cheering from the stands with her school buttons pinned to her jacket. Her purse was never without snacks—and always included her beloved lemon drops tucked away in a baggy.
Her heart was a haven for friendship, cherishing every bond with unwavering loyalty and joy. Known for her selflessness, Janet always placed the needs of others before her own, her gentle spirit never uttering a harsh word. Her jovial nature filled rooms with laughter, and her ever-present smile was a beacon of light to all who knew her.
Janet found joy in life’s simple treasures. She never passed up a garage sale without finding something special for someone she loved. She enjoyed playing doubles tennis with the ladies of Lincoln, Nebraska, year-round and gathering with her “Busy Bees” neighborhood group each month. She walked her neighborhood daily, checking in with friends, sharing stories, and often lingering over a cup of coffee.
Janet’s legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will forever live on in our hearts. Her life was a testimony of faith, joy, and the love of Christ in action.
