Harlan Belgard

Harlan E. Belgard, age 88 of Amboy passed away on June 23 at Mapleton Community Home, Mapleton.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 11:00 at the First Presbyterian Church in Amboy. Burial will be with immediate family at Pleasant View Cemetery, Amboy. Visitation time will be one hour prior to services at the church. Spencer-Owen Funeral Home of Winnebago is in charge of arrangements.

Harlan was born April 6,1938 in Mankato, MN, the son of Harold Belgard and Evelyn (Wilson) Belgard. He was a graduate of Garden City High School. On November 13, 1960, he married Janet L. Juergens. They were married for 65 years. Together they went deer hunting, camping and were avid fisherman. They enjoyed playing cards together and with others. Harlan’s hobby was building wooden projects for others and wooden trucks, tractors, trains and more. Harlan worked as a welder for many years before he started farming in 1975. He served as a Reservist in the US Army and received an Honorable Discharge. Harlan was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his children, Kelly Belgard, Mitch Belgard (Sandy). Three Grandchildren, Tony Ferra (Savanna), Joe Fiacco (Natasha), and Jaime Fiacco. Five Great Grandchildren, Eli, Oliver, Isaac, Leela and Adelynn. Nieces and Nephews. Brother Hugh Belgard (Vail) of Garden City, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lee Belgard.
