Carol Ann Loomis

Carol Ann Loomis passed away on June 21, 2025 at the age of 88.

Carol was born on August 10, 1937, in Wells, Minnesota to Peter and Mary (Hassing) Staloch. She graduated from Wells High School, then received a Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from the College of St. Catherine and a Master’s Degree in English Education from the University of Minnesota. She taught high school English for several years and later was a substitute teacher. For many years, Carol was the director of religious education at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Winnebago, Minnesota and was also a part time librarian at Muir Library in Winnebago. Gardening was one of her hobbies, and for many years operated a farmers’ market with her husband Paul.

On June 16, 1962, Carol married Paul Loomis of albert Lea. They have a son Mark and a daughter Jean.

Carol is survived by her son Mark, daughter Jean (David) Olson; granddaughters, Beatrice and Abigail; and a great grandson, Scott. She is also survived by her sisters, Delores (Herzberg), Sharon (Kuechenmeister), and Joan (Larson); brothers, Marvin and Richard, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, brother Robert, and sister Dorothy (Sonnek)
