Bonita Ann Annen

Bonita Ann (Rundquist) Annen of Winnebago passed away November 4th, 2024, in Mankato, with her family by her side. A celebration of life will be held 11AM Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the Berean Baptist Church in Winnebago. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service. A Interment will take place at a later date.

 Bonnie was born on May 30th, 1937, the youngest daughter of Waldemar and Henrietta (Johnson) Rundquist, near Pepin, WI. She attended Pleasant Corner School near Stockholm, WI. After high school she attended Buffalo County Teachers College, Alma, WI. 

 On June 27th, 1957, Bonnie married Lester Annen, at Sabylund Lutheran Church in Stockholm WI. They moved to Clinton, WI, and then Beloit WI. Where Bonnie taught elementary school, and they started their family. They were blessed with four children Joel, Janelle, Jacki, and Jill. A few years later they moved to Minneapolis MN, where she remained at home and raised her children. In 1971 they moved their family to Winnebago, MN, where Les and Bonnie started Annen’s Body shop. Bonnie did the bookwork for the business, while working at several places in the area Electro-Craft, home health care, Wal-Mart, and Windings before she retired. 

In her spare time Bonnie loved to tend to her flower garden, spend time with her family especially her great grandchildren. She really had a special talent with sewing and made all her grandchildren and great grandchildren quilts. Bonnie enjoyed being part of the Garden Club, Red Hats Society and would spend summer afternoons at the pool for water aerobics. Bonnie was also a very avid reader and could often be found at the Muir Library. 

Bonnie is proceeded in death by her parents Waldemar and Henrietta Rundquist; daughters Janelle Hawkridge and Jill Annen; siblings Ralph (Marie) Rundquist, Ruby (Bernon) Samuelson, Marj (Lyle) Anderson, Wayne (Maxine) Rundquist; brother in-law James Danley. 

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Lester; children Joel (Dalene) Annen of Winnebago, and Jacki (Lyndon) Johnson of Minot, ND; grandchildren, Lynne (James) Duben, Samantha Johnson, Leigh Larsen, Gwendolyn Johnson. Henrietta (Alex) Schoenberg; great-grandchildren Wyatt, Wesley, and Walker Duben, Andorra Huwe, Rylyn and Rhys Larsen; sister in-law Louise Danley.
