Marie Rosten February 20, 2010 Mankato Marie Rosten, age 92, died on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Pathstone Nursing Home in Mankato. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Jackson Lake Lutheran Church, Amboy with Rev. Todd Substad officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Lake Cemetery, Amboy. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and continuing one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. www.spencerowen.com Marie Kveen was born August 14, 1917 to Iver and Bertha (Thompson) Kveen in rural Amboy, Minnesota. She graduated as Valedictorian from Amboy High School in 1935. In 1938 she graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Kahler-Methodist School of Nursing. Marie married Lloyd Rosten on September 1, 1951 in Las Vegas, Nevada and they made their home in Southern California. The couple lived there many years and added two sons to their family. In 1968, they moved back to the Amboy area and have lived in the surrounding are since that time. Marie worked as an RN at the Winnebago Baptist Nursing Home for many years. Marie enjoyed knitting beautiful Afghans for her family and friends. She made some of the world’s finest lefse, and shared her sense of humor, political opinions and her vast love for those around her with a free hand. After Lloyd passed away, Marie moved to an apartment in Amboy and eventually to Mankato. Marie is survived by her sons, Howard Rosten of North Mankato; Dale (Kimberlee) Rosten of Eden Prairie; 5 grandchildren, Jana (Michael) Huffman of Minneapolis; Jevan Rosten of Richfield; Kenneth Rosten, Bradley Rosten and Jillian Rosten all of Mankato; one great grandchild, Wyatt Huffman. Marie is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
