Edith "Sue" Irene Cox

Amboy July 25, 2009 Edith Irene Cox ‘’Sue’’ Edith ‘’Sue’’ Cox, of Amboy, age 64, died Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the Mapleton Community Home. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Amboy Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Michael Roys officiating. Burial will follow in Sterling Cemetery, Amboy. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Sue was born on February 8, 1945 at Mankato, MN. Sue was raised and educated in Mankato. She graduated from Mankato Loyola High School in 1963. Sue married Harold Keith Cox on February 12, 1966 in Mankato. Sue and Harold moved to Amboy in 1979 where she worked as a cook at Normans Café. Sue enjoyed bowling, cooking, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. Sue is survived by her sons: Jay (Kathy) Cox of Amboy, and Jon (Christine) Cox of Queen Creek, AZ; her daughters: Jeri (Jared) Turbes of Winnebago, and Jan (Tony) Cooper of Amboy; brother-in-law, Lee Cox of Amboy; sister-in-law Betty Cox of Rochester; 8 grandchidren; and 3 great grandchildren. Sue is also survived by many other dear friends and family. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.
