Delavan May 19, 2009 Gordon Wilbur Oakland Gordon W. Oakland, age 92, of Delavan, MN died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 23, 2009, at 2:30 PM, at Faith Lutheran Church in Delavan, with Rev. Todd Substad officiating. Burial will be in East Cemetery, Delavan. Visitation will be on Friday May 22, 2009 at Faith Lutheran Church in Delavan from 4:00-7:00 PM and continuing one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday. Web tributes may be left at www.spencerowen.com Gordon was born May 08, 1917, at Guckeen, MN, the son of Gustave and Clara (Segeled) Oakland. On February 21, 1937 Gordon married Thelma (Odegaard) Oakland, the two lived in Delavan for many years before her death in 2006. Gordon and Thelma enjoyed, for many years, camping and fishing up north. Gordon was a long time member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Delavan and loved spending time with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Gordon is survived by his daughter, Linda (Tom) Moorhead of Maple Grove, MN; his son, Lyle (Pat) Oakland of Rockford, IL; his daughter, Norma (Rick) Bloom of Cloquet, MN, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son Gene Oakland, and brother Clifford Oakland.
