GLADYS T. WEGENAST, age 94, of Winnebago, died Friday, January 2, 2009, at Parker-Oaks, Winnebago. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at 11:00a.m., at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Winnebago, with Rev. Dale Kohrs officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winnebago. Visitation time will be one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago in charge of arrangements. She was born December 23, 1914, at Amboy, Mn., the daughter of John & Signa(Torgerson)Olson. She attended school at Winnebago. Gladys married Ralph"Hank"Evans. He preceded her in death in 1953. She worked as a cook at the Winnebago Public School. She married Edwin Wegenast and he preceded her in death. Gladys was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, American Legion Auxillary, card club and garden club. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, gardening, playing cards and watching the Vikings. She is survived by her Son: Robert Evans, Des Moines, IA, Daughters: Janet(Richard) Rose, Amboy, Daughter: Janice Sohn, Blue Earth, Daughter: Mary Jo(Gene) Zumwalt, Minneapolis, Step Daughter: Rosalie(Edward) Soronen, Eagan, 17 Grandchildren , 38 great grandchildren , 6 great great grandchildren , Sister: Lilly Allen, Blue Earth, Sister in laws: Elaine Olson, Blue Earth, Rosmary(Olson)Rogers, Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter(Geraldine), one grandchild, daughter in law (Rita), son in law(Duane), two brothers, and one sister. Memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice.
