ANNA MAE MASON, 85, of Lake Crystal and formerly of Amboy, died Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Ecumen Assisted Living in Lake Crystal. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 2:30 PM, at First Presbyterian Church in Amboy, with Rev. Elaine Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Amboy. Visitation time will be from 12:30PM until service time at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.spencerowen.com She was born May 31, 1929, at Pleasant Township, Wright County, IA, the daughter of Jacob & Grace (Carolus) TerHark. She graduated from Clarion High School in 1947. She was married to Walter L. Mason on September 5, 1948 in Clarion, IA. She loved playing cards, sewing, baking, dancing, traveling, and most of all spending time with her family. She was longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Amboy and was very active in women's groups, choir, and various committees. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Dean) Runge of Amboy, daughter, Connie Hedland of Blue Earth, daughter, Lori (Robert) Christofferson of Kimball, brother, Larry (Sharon) TerHark of Clarion, sister, Janet (Richard) Engebretson of Jesup, IA, 6 Granddaughters, Susan (John) Sonnek of N. Mankato, Lisa (Nathan Blakesley) Runge of Lake Crystal, Marta (Daryl) Grove of Fayette, IA, Tarra Hedland of Blue Earth, Amy (Justin) Blunt of Kimball, MN, Linda (Richard) Franks of Santa Fe, TX, 13 great grandchildren, McKenzie, and Sam Sonnek, Breckyn, and Emmett Blakesley, Makenna, Gavyn, and Brody Grove, Jacob Hedland, Hayley Jahnke, Marianna Rincon, Evan Franks, Alexis, and Jonathan Blunt, brothers-in-law, Paul Hunt, and Bill Beenen, sisters-in-law, Jean Thompson, Lila Amonson, and Donna Ainger. She is preceded in death by her husband, grandson, Mark Runge, brother, Gene TerHark, sisters, Dorothy Thompson, Rosalie Hunt, her parents and special friend, Jack Thomas.
