Ronald Fred Bressler Sr., age 81, of Winnebago, died Monday, August 5, 2013, at Fairmont Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at 10:30 AM, at St Mary's Catholic Church in Winnebago, with Father Peter Schuster officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation time will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, at Spencer Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago and one hour prior to services at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.spencerowen.com Ron was born December 30, 1931, in Norwood, MN, the son of Herman and Gertrude (Wolter) Bressler. He attended school in Henderson, MN and entered the U.S. Army on September 9, 1952. He served in the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged on July 21, 1954. Ron was married to Colleen M. Keller on March 30, 1957 in Belle Plaine, MN. He farmed in Henderson until 1971 when he moved to Winnebago. While he farmed in Henderson and later in Winnebago he also worked at the Foundry in LeSueur, Silica Sand in Kasota, Norstar Plastics in Winnebago, Electro Craft in Winnebago and for Patten Roofing in Winnebago. Ron is survived by his wife, Colleen Bressler of Winnebago, his daughter, Joanne (Kevin) Johnson of Maple Grove, his son, Ronald (Kirsten) Bressler, Jr. of Truman, his brother, Herman (Delores) Bressler of LeSueur, his sisters Lyla Smith of Henderson, Mavis (Rodger) Grimmelman of LeSueur, Glenda Effertz of Green Isle, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, James John Bressler, brother, Glenn Bressler and brothers-in-law, Bob Smith & Jack Effertz.
