RONALD RAYMOND OSBORN, age 75, of Winnebago, passed Friday, February 8, 2013, at Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at the First Baptist Church in Winnebago, with Rev. Thomas Butler officiating. Visitation time will be from 4:00 until 8:00pm Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Spencer Owen Funeral Home, 345 6th Ave SE in Winnebago, and 1 hour before at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.spencerowen.com He was born July 06, 1937, at Montezuma, IA, the son of John and Opal (Schmidt) Osborn. He attended many country schools as his family moved around. They moved to Minnesota in 1949 when Ron was in the 6th grade, and he graduated from Winnebago High School in 1957. On October 19, 1957 he married Charlotte Ritter in the First Presbyterian Church. After they were married he entered the United States Army and served for 2 years. Upon returning to Winnebago he worked for a farmer, Duncanson Lumber, and the City of Winnebago. In 1974 he and Donald Pettit purchased their first backhoe. In 1977 he bought Don out and started Ron’s Trenching. He retired from his business in 2011. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Winnebago serving on numerous boards, and committees, he spent 20 years on the Winnebago Fire Department, 11 years on the Winnebago Ambulance. He was a Charter Member of the Motofest Celebration serving for over 25 years and was inducted into the Winnebago EDA Hall of Fame in 2012. He is survived by his spouse, Charlotte Osborn of Winnebago, his son, Brian (Deb) Osborn of Forest Lake, his son, Bruce (Kristi) Osborn of Mayer, his son, Brad (Lesly) Osborn of Inver Grove Heights, his daughter, Brenda (John) Pihart of Rochester, his son, Bret (Rhonda) Osborn of Winnebago, his son, Luis (Dorys) Gimenez of Asuncion, Paraguay, his brother, Clair Schmidt of Winnebago, his brother, Bill (Edith) Osborn of Winnebago, his sister, Jaunita Hopp of Winnebago, his sister, Carrie (Brian) Jacobsen of Winnebago, his sisters-in-law, Lois Osborn of Madelia, Margaret Osborn of Santa Fa, NM, brother-in-law Ed (Nancy) Ritter of Fairmont, 20 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Carl and Lora Ritter, brothers Walter, Richard Wayne, Lewis, and granddaughter Samantha Osborn. Web tributes may be left at www.spencerowen.com
