Rose Inga Winter

January 6, 1932 — March 30, 2011

ROSE INGA WINTER, age 79, of Winnebago, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at Fairmont Medical Center in Fairmont, MN after a week long illness battling heart and kidney failure. Visitation will be held at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at 3:00-6:00p.m. And also one hour prior to Funeral Services at the church. The Funeral will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 109 Cleveland Ave., Winnebago with Rev. Durene Cornell officiating. Condolences may be left at www. spencerowen.com. Rose was born January 6, 1932 in Welcome, MN, the daughter of Almer E. and Rosaline A. (Hormann) Peterson. She was a graduate of Winnebago High School in 1950 and worked at the grocery store in Welcome. On May 12, 1956, she married Walter R. Winter in Sherburn, MN. Rose worked at KaWinn Manufacturing in Winnebago, and is also noted for being an asset and a hard worker at the Laundromat, Super 8 of Blue Earth, and Winnebago Super Valu from which she retired in 1999. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school, delivered Meals on Wheels, and always did what she could to help others. Rose enjoyed watching the MN Twins & Vikings, NASCAR, and in particular being her son Randy’s #1 fan while watching him compete with his race car. Rose loved to bake and is remembered fondly for animal cakes for the youth in her family and community. Gardening, flowers, crocheting, spending time with family and friends, and her cat Buddy were important to her. ROSE is survived by her Son, Randy (Laura) Winter of Winnebago, her Son, Bruce (Melody) Winter of Cedar Rapids, her Grandchild, Jennifer Silbert of Kentucky, her Brother Denny (Darlene) Peterson of Norwalk, CA. Also her step-sister, Joanne (Don) Thiesse, Winona, and her sister-in-law, Amelia Hardy, Winnebago, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 2002, her parents Almer and Rosaline, step-mother Louise, and infant brother, Warren.
