She was raised and educated at Martin County Country School and graduated from Huntley High School. From High School through to her time of marriage she worked at Bill Leach’s Grocery in Winnebago. She was married to Virgil E. Randall on April 23, 1947 in Nashville Township. She has lived on the family farm from 1947-2005. Marvis was a active member of the United Methodist Women at Basey United Methodist Church, providing a stable center of the community, for friendship and fellowship. She gardened extensively, loved to sew, raised livestock with her husband, baked and canned according to the seasons. Her grand daughter, Anna, recently learned that she didn’t even like the green beans she canned in volume – she did this and many other canning and freezing projects just for the benefit of others. Marvis enjoyed playing cards with her neighbors, church gatherings, and games. Six years ago she underwent heart surgery and subsequently moved into the Garden Apartments in Winnebago prior to moving into Parker Oaks. She is survived by her sons, Roger Randall of Winnebago, and Juel Randall of Mankato; her sisters, Angeline (Royce) Jones, and Marlene Jose; her sister-in-law, Gladys Hervey, her grand daughter Anna (Gary Hieronimus); and two great grandchildren, Jacqi and Alex. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil in 1998; and her brother Russell Hervey.
