Kenneth L. Roberts, age 87, of Amboy, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Parker Oaks in Winnebago.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at Amboy United Methodist Church in Amboy, with Rev. Jean Sidner officiating. Burial will follow in Sterling Cemetery, Amboy, MN. Visitation time will be from 5-7:00pm Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Spencer Owen Funeral Home, 345 6th Ave SE in Winnebago, and 1 hour before the service at the church. Born May 01, 1924, at home in Sterling Township, Kenneth was the son of Robert Joe Roberts and Margaret Hope Ellis. He graduated from Amboy High School in 1942. On October 18, 1947 he married Bernita Marilyn Ratcliffe and together they had 3 children: Marilyn, Joann, and Donna.

Kenneth worked on the family farm for years raising sheep and farming the land that he so loved. He also hauled livestock for Veril Conrad Trucking for 27 years, and he enjoyed family vacations along the North Shore of Lake Superior.

Kenneth is survived by Bernita, his wife of 64 years; daughters: Marilyn (Frank) Aspen, St. Paul; Joann Otting, Le Sueur; Donna Smith, Amboy; sister, Mildred Davis, Amboy; niece, Jodell Kruse, Ramsey; 7 grandchildren: Brian (Jennifer) Aspen, Melissa Aspen (special friend Pete DeRosier), Blake Otting (special friend Jen Cunningham), Kelsey Otting (special friend Adam McConkey), Sarah Blakesley, Rachel Blakesley, and Luke Blakesley; and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Jim Otting, brother-in-law Dwight Davis, and nephew Mike Kruse.
